Aegis delegates joined fellow activists and unionists over two days on Thursday 30th and Friday 1st July in London at the TUC LGBT+ Conference. Included in the conference were key themes around marking 50 years of Pride, closing the LGBT pay gap, and ending homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in the workplace.

The TUC has called on the government to introduce a wide range of measures to address various issues which LGBTQ+ staff face in the workplace, including protection from bullying and harrassment and LGBT pay gap reporting. The congress also pledged to establish a multi-national alliance for Trans and non-Binary rights.

General Secretary Brian Linn also addressed the conference delegates as an TUC General Council LGBT Committee member:

"This year's TUC LGBT+ Conference was a powerful call to action to drive change forward. Also the courage and honesty of delegates' testimonies were outstanding."

“A member could come up and talk to me to let me know what's going on in their team, and if something's not going well I'll see what can be done to help.”
