On the 21st anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement, Aegis the Union stood in solidarity with NUJ at a rally in memory of Lyra McKee. Together with the people of Derry, we are struggling to comprehend the loss of such a valued member of this city. We have lost a talented journalist, a passionate LGBT activist, and a much loved trade union member. Our thoughts are with Lyra's partner, family, and friends. Now, more than ever we stand with the community of Derry in condemning those who cannot accept peace. We vehemently reject anyone that can inflict this horror and loss upon our town. We stand with the people of Derry in declaring our unshakable right to live in peace, work in peace, and grieve in peace.

We will remember Lyra always

“A member could come up and talk to me to let me know what's going on in their team, and if something's not going well I'll see what can be done to help.”
