To help our members and their families we will share with you on a daily basis updates that we received from Government and try to give you links to further information were appropriate:

Taking care of your mind as well as your body is really important while staying at home because of coronavirus (COVID-19).

You may feel bored, frustrated or lonely. You may also be low, worried or anxious, or concerned about your finances, your health or those close to you.

Government Announcements

A new Scottish Government email address ( has been made available for people to report gaps in PPE or other concerns.

Emergency legislation has been published. The legislation includes changes to prevent people being evicted, it has passed all three stages of parliamentary scrutiny and last for 6 months, although it can be extended to 18 months if needed. An STUC briefing on the legislation is available on request.

The statutory duty on Local Authorities to provide 1140 hours of childcare by August will be postponed.

STUC have published guidance on UK Government changes to carrying over holiday leave.
