Fiona has worked for Aegis the Union since 2006 and during that time she has been instrumental and influential in leading Aegis to where we are today.
Fiona’s energy, enthusiasm and drive have helped Aegis move from a single employer staff association to an independent trade union with affiliations to the TUC, STUC, ITUC and GFTU.
Fiona also played a key role in amalgamating Aegis with the Yorkshire Building Society Staff Association and the Skipton Building Society Staff Association.
In 2022 Fiona was elected Chair of the STUC Womens Committee and throughout that year Fiona proudly promoted Womens issues and raised the profile of Aegis at the same time.
Between now and 1 May I will tell you more about Fiona’s achievements with Aegis and there may also be a couple of blogs from Fiona too.
Ania Lomax, Assistant General Secretary (AGS) for our YBS Division will take over from Fiona on 1 May.
Steve Crotty, a senior YBS Division rep will replace Ania as the AGS for YBS Division from 1 May also.
